i got it. you use let me try to explain this the best i can.

right after the drop, have a super hard kick and snare with reverb, then have a MASSIVE (size, not plug in) sidechain hooked up to it with the bass used pre-drop, and a super gritty patch at the same time.

I swear im not trying to get you to listen to my stuff, but here is a great example of it from 2:20-end (helps you get a feeling for the song a bit.)

Just use a grittier plug in than what i got.

and would you like to collab? i got FL Studio/Massive/Nexus. i love doing post drops, but i feel like i suck at intros. PM if youd like to work something out.

Great job bud!

thanks for your feedback, i will try to play around with something really gritty :)) seems like a good idea!

i will pm you because of collab but in a few weeks. first i still wanna learn a little bit myself and finish all the unfinished projects i have so far

Not my style dubstep

BUT it's still good dubstep, which is what i feel people on NG get confused with. if they don't like it, it sucks. which is definitely not the case.

Great composition, mastering, and bass. I feel the song is a bit redundant at times, but that is very common in a house style, which is what i hope you were aiming for. Like an aggressive house song.

Great job man! next time just dirty it up a bit for me ;)

Man, 2 for 2! i love your style. your pretty consistent with your quality. where do you get a sound clip that actually said "This is my dubstep"? that's tight dude! no critiscms whatsoever.

CowardlyLion responds:

Thanks a lot, man! I'm not sure what growling sound you're referring to...but, most of my sounds are created using Native Instrument's Razor, along with Native Instrument's Massive and Rob Papen's Albino. I don't have the full version of Reaktor, so I haven't been able to save any of the patches I make. Otherwise, I totally would send you a patch. I'll give your stuff a listen! Thanks.

This is nice dude! i like the scary ambient tone. sounds alot like Skream. great job dude. i feel like the loop transition could be a bit better. but im not gonna grade off for it. Great job dude! i've made more dubstep since you last checked my page. check it out! my most recent one is Mass Effect 3.

Once again man, great job!

WarfareDubstep responds:

hey man thanks for the review :P

Just thought I'd label this small sample as a loop as it is not quite a full song.
I'll check that your songs :D

Ifeel like this song is going to build up to something awesome, but it changes lanes and i can't really follow it...the individual sections are awesome, but together in one song, it sounds like an acoustic blender. great try, try expanding on one of the ideas in you song to get a REALLY kick ass song.

Thank you for the advice, I will take it into consideration in the future

Dude, the beginning almost made me cry. for some reason, that pad or synth or whatever is pretty emotionally packed. The drop had a perfect amount of grit in relation to that pad. great job! how'd you get the articulating studder on your post-drop "lead"?

Probably because I've been playing it quite a bit, I feel like this could be inserted in literally any part of Mass effect 3 and fit.

Hurks responds:

Dude, you're awesome. A lot of these sounds are achieved with experimenting, Basically, for the post drop synth, I took a massive patch and dissected it to the core and reworked some of the stuff, And the stutter was simply worked in the way I used it in a piano roll.
I never get any actually helpful reviews like this much, so I'd appreciate if you shared this around! Thanks :3

I dont mean o be a pooper, but

I really found the Kick to be really obtrusive. the click got really annoying, and i felt there was too much of it in certian parts. but the song is great. I love your always-amazing glitch work. you really work wonders with that. Great as always!

TRON: Legacy.

Sounds like Daft Punk's Tron album. you did a great job. Light, but still electro enough to kick ass.

Thanks a ton, man, that's a huge compliment! Really glad you liked the song :)

Filthy.

This song is filthier than bathing in baby blood. serious the drop was disgusting. i'm gonna go throw up now.

Then you just go back to the orignal melody????? Your Insane. props. the drop isn't the heaviest, but it's just....just *gag*

Hahaha, well that's just excellent. Thank you, my friend :) Glad you enjoyed it!

I'm a home producer who plays guitar and is into everything. Classical, Metal, Dubstep, techno, rock, a bit of rap,80's pop, indie music, everything. the only thing i don't like is country. Always open to collabs, and general chitchat!
